Patients may experience angina or ischemia despite the absence of obstructive disease in the major coronary arteries.
More than one underlying mechanism
CMD can arise from distinct functional and structural mechanisms within the coronary microcirculation. A single diagnostic or treatment approach may not be appropriate for every patient.
Programs built around defined biology
Lucier is developing programs intended to assess and address defined pathways involved in abnormal coronary arteriolar regulation.
