Dr. Guangrong Lu presented Lucier's research at the American Heart Association Scientific Sessions 2025 in New Orleans on behalf of Professors Travis W. Hein and Lih Kuo and the broader study team.
The abstract, “Clinical Level of Endothelin-1 Causes ROCK2-Mediated Constriction of Porcine Coronary Arterioles Independent of Protein Kinase C Signaling,” examines how coronary arterioles respond to clinically relevant concentrations of endothelin-1.
The findings identify distinct roles for Rho kinase and protein kinase C signaling in coronary arteriolar constriction and support Lucier's investigation of ROCK signaling in coronary microvascular dysfunction.
During the same week, Dr. Lu also participated in the Texas Life Science Forum, engaging with medical professionals, researchers, and entrepreneurs around the challenges of translating microcirculation science into potential new medicines.
